Email reminder and follow up in New Outlook missing

Hi.

I am currently using 'New Outlook'. Previously I was able to set a reminder/follow up on the email either before or after sending as a reminder to do so.

Sadly I cannot find it. Has it been omitted?

This was a very important tool, please reinstate this incredibly useful and productive feature.

    I want to be able to flag for the recipients and add a reminder before I send it like I used to. I get that maybe that is still in development but if that is not the way it is being designed, please bring back this feature.

    I'm reminded of many Dilbert cartoons where they use their unwitting customers for QA and testing rather than releasing fully working software. Very understandable since Microsoft is such a small company with not many resources to put towards projects like this...

    That is indeed a new feature. You can turn it off via;
    Settings-> Mail-> Message reminders

    The detection of message reminders is similar to that of the Action Items Web add-in and tracking of those is similar to that of Viva Insights. This is not all AI based as this also worked pre-AI boom as well.

    Many of this is simply trigger based. For instance, when there is a question in an email that you received or sent, a reminder might show up when no emails in that thread show up after x days.

    @Roady Thank you, that's very helpful. For those having trouble finding the setting in New Outlook (like I was), it's under Settings - Mail - Layout - (scroll down, down, down to) Message Reminders.
