Email reminder and follow up in New Outlook missing

Hi.

I am currently using 'New Outlook'. Previously I was able to set a reminder/follow up on the email either before or after sending as a reminder to do so.

Sadly I cannot find it. Has it been omitted?

This was a very important tool, please reinstate this incredibly useful and productive feature.

Thanks for the reply, its just poor by MS to roll out a new version with basic requirements not included. I'm not interested in work arounds now I have enough of a workload. I wont be reverting to New Outlook until this is fixed or I'm forced to because the switch the old one off.

    Hi there,

I am actually looking to set reminder to recipient rather than myself on an input task due in a week time to me as collaborator of a project. With this function missing, I am not able to have the auto reminder for the recipient of my email, which is inconvenient.

It would be good to have this function build in the new outlook so that they the recipient would be able to see the email content by double clicking to the reminder.

    Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestion! Much appreciated - however, a "workaround" should be necessary for something so vital that so many people use on a daily basis! Microsoft just need to put the old version of email follow-ups into the new version of Outlook. the old adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it! totally applies here!!!

An easy workaround for this is:

    1. add an asterisk at the end of the subject for any email that you are composing that you want to flag for follow up.
    2. Create a category such as "follow up" or "waiting"
    3. Create a rule that looks for any email with an asterisk in the subject and adds the selected category tag
    4. Add the category to your favorites in the Folder Pane and you can easily track outgoing emails.
