Email reminder and follow up in New Outlook missing

Hi.

I am currently using 'New Outlook'. Previously I was able to set a reminder/follow up on the email either before or after sending as a reminder to do so.

Sadly I cannot find it. Has it been omitted?

This was a very important tool, please reinstate this incredibly useful and productive feature.

    Hello,

I am wondering if someone could give me an update on this feature?

I just started using the New Outlook (Oct 2024) and this is still missing I believe.

This is a great functionality that I use in my day to day, and I will need to go back to the old Outlook unless it is there and I haven't yet found it.

    Appreciate your answer

Custom Flags are possible now. Just right click on the item, Flag-> Custom

Directly setting reminders on flagged items isn't possible yet, but the flagged item will be visible when you switch to the To Do module within New Outlook, where you can set a reminder.

I am using Classic Outlook and I don't have the functionality anymore either. I worked with a Microsoft tech over the phone months ago and when he made some changes to my Outlook (reinstalling it), I didn't have it. I don't have the bandwidth to figure this out because I tried all the suggestions.

Now I just set up separate files with emails I need to follow up and then enter a task. Yes, it's double work but it's my workaround.

Or better yet, you could keep a paper notebook with ALL your reminders, confessions & passwords. MS Outlook BIG oversight is affecting my work and that of many others!

I am just wondering why rolling out something that with useful function missing, and telling people that it is not implemented.

Because it is not actually rolling out yet. It is currently offered as an Opt-In (meaning: It is not the default yet; you decide to use it or not) for Classic Outlook which allows you to see the current development state. You can use it and it is supported but many of the features are still in development or on a backlog, so it is anything but ready.

Also, see my other replies within this thread for more details about the status of New Outlook when compared to Classic Outlook.
