Email reminder and follow up in New Outlook missing

Hi.

I am currently using 'New Outlook'. Previously I was able to set a reminder/follow up on the email either before or after sending as a reminder to do so.

Sadly I cannot find it. Has it been omitted?

This was a very important tool, please reinstate this incredibly useful and productive feature.

    Dear all

I have discovered a way of overcoming this issue.

Once you've sent the email, right click the email within your inbox and scroll to the bottom to 'advanced actions'. There you can 'create task'. This sets a basic task without any reminders etc.

Once done, the task is shown in the 'To Do' column on the right. There you can right click and set custom reminders etc for any given task.

    Hope this helps.

The feature is there but currently still in a limited form.

When you select the message, you can use the Flag button in the Ribbon, click on the flag icon which shows when you hover over the message in the Message List, or right click it for more options.

Actual pop-up reminders and setting custom dates and times is still a work in progress. For now however, you could create a "For Follow Up" Search folder to keep up with your flagged items.

    Appreciate the quick response Roady.

You say it's a work in progress, are Microsoft working to make it fully functioning as before?

    Thanks

Nothing has been officially announced but I expect them to have full feature parity with Classic Desktop when it comes to this feature as it is an important mail triage feature for many people. Also "under the hood" it works similar to custom times and dates for Calendar Items and Tasks.

What you can actually do now as a workaround, and without switching back to Classic Outlook, is to flag the email in New Outlook, then go to the Flagged Emails section in To Do (either via the App or the Navigation on the left in New Outlook), and then set your custom Due Date and Reminder Date/Time for the item.
