Adding a Send Delay to outgoing emails on the New Outlook

Hello!

On the "Old version" of Outlook, it was relatively straightforward to add a send delay of, for example, 1 minute to outgoing emails, where the email is automatically stored in "Outgoing messages" for 1 minute before it is sent to the recipient. During this time you could make any changes to the email - re-read it, check and correct potential typos, etc. This could be done via a custom rule.

However, in the "New Outlook", this functionality appears to be removed. I was able to find an option to "Undo Send" for 10 seconds after send-out, however, 10 seconds isn't a lot of time.

Is it possible to add a send-delay to outgoing email in the "New Outlook" or was this functionality removed from the software?

    great tip MIchael, thanks. I found it but the max delay is 10 seconds and I always had mine at 2 or 3 mins. I regularly write and email and then remember something I forgot, or sometimes realise there was a better way to say something etc. And in the old system, if its an urgent send, you can just manually hit send/receive and it overrides the standard delay.

    The cosmetics of new outlook are nice but its missing a lot of functionality of the old one But now you have shown me the settings (which I had not noticed before) I will give it another shot.

    I found a way to do this:

    Account Information>Rules and Alerts>New Rule>

    Apply Rule on messages I send>Apply this rule after I sent the message>defer delivery by X minutes (click the number to change the amount)

    Make sure no conditions apply to this rule and that it applies to all messages sent and all people sent to. This has worked so far.

    Hi! Following up to see if there is anything new on this.

    Delay send is HUGE for my department as we work with very sensitive data and it allows an added security should an email or attachment be entered incorrectly.

    We are looking for a solution for New Outlook not Old Outlook

    It is unfortunate that the new Outlook does not have this feature as such looks like we will all be reverting back to Old
