Adding a Send Delay to outgoing emails on the New Outlook

Hello!

On the "Old version" of Outlook, it was relatively straightforward to add a send delay of, for example, 1 minute to outgoing emails, where the email is automatically stored in "Outgoing messages" for 1 minute before it is sent to the recipient. During this time you could make any changes to the email - re-read it, check and correct potential typos, etc. This could be done via a custom rule.

However, in the "New Outlook", this functionality appears to be removed. I was able to find an option to "Undo Send" for 10 seconds after send-out, however, 10 seconds isn't a lot of time.

Is it possible to add a send-delay to outgoing email in the "New Outlook" or was this functionality removed from the software?

We have talking about this for 2 years they obviously don't care. Or more importantly not interested in what their Micorsoft Community members have to say.

I am switching back to the old Outlook again because this feature is still not available (April 2025).

I did the same thing. It's actually crazy. Why would an upgrade take away vital features such as an automatic send delay and displaying the total number of emails in a mailbox? I depend on those two things to keep me organized and accurate.

I also just now found out the fact that Mail Merge appears to be incompatible with the New Outlook.
So features not present on the the software:

    • Send Delay
    • Mail Merge
    • Number of total emails in inbox

Considering it's already been two years, this seems fascinating. Both the fact that the key things that made Outlook stand out are gone without any timeline of when they'll be returned (if ever), and the fact that it's still called "New Outlook" :D
