Upgrading to new outlook will not accept IMAP accounts

trying to upgrade but when giving al the information of my IMAP connection the continue button is greyed out.

On another MS forum people are saying IMAP is not enabled yet, is that correct?

Indeed, the new Outlook for Windows does not support IMAP accounts yet. This means that you cannot add your email account from Yahoo!, iCloud, or other providers that use IMAP protocols to the new Outlook app. The new Outlook for Windows currently supports Exchange-backed Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, Outlook.com accounts, and Gmail accounts.

However, there is some good news. The new Outlook for Windows team is working hard to add support for more account types in the future, including IMAP accounts. They have not announced a specific timeline for this feature. I don't believe it has. I am using thunderbird now. It took me a while to learn how to set it up, but you can use the signatures you may have setup in outlook in thunderbird by going to the folder and applying it to the email you're setting up. I am no expert, so if I can do it you can.

That's right, it doesn't work with the new outlook for windows app. With the old windows mail and people app it does work properly. This was also published by Microsoft itself.

BUT what about the OUTLOOK part under Microsoft 365 personal paid version. I see here that the account can be set-up, sending e-mails is possible but no means to receive any mail. Have checked the configuration multiple times, can't find any issue. Still it is functional in outlook for android, the old windows mail app and numerous 3rd party mail clients.

Thunderbird might be the way out here. The problem is the synchronisation between PCs (desktop, portables, ...)

The New Outlook has been working with IMAP accounts for two months from when we updated from Mail.

There must have been an update by Microsoft recently which makes the New Outlook not compatible with PLUS NET and they have confirmed this today .

A fix needs to be put in place here !!
