Upgrading to new outlook will not accept IMAP accounts

Hi

trying to upgrade but when giving al the information of my IMAP connection the continue button is greyed out.

On another MS forum people are saying IMAP is not enabled yet, is that correct?

Indeed, the new Outlook for Windows does not support IMAP accounts yet. This means that you cannot add your email account from Yahoo!, iCloud, or other providers that use IMAP protocols to the new Outlook app. The new Outlook for Windows currently supports Exchange-backed Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, Outlook.com accounts, and Gmail accounts.

However, there is some good news. The new Outlook for Windows team is working hard to add support for more account types in the future, including IMAP accounts. They have not announced a specific timeline for this feature.     I cannot set up IMAP mail accounts even on classic Outlook on my new laptop. The IMAP and POP3 settings are identical to the old outlook on my old laptop, but I make no progress. Any suggestions?

    I've always found the best way with classic Outlook and my imap accounts is to set it up through control panel - mail (microsoft outlook) - email accounts and go from there (add new, put in all your details, test account settings etc..). That still seems to work.

    It's a weird behaviour. You'd think if new outlook would accept an account on one pc, it'd accept it on another, and if, on one pc, it accepts one account from my isp, it'd accept the other account from the same isp too. This is off topic, but we also have problems with onedrive sharing, shared folders in file manager turning into weblinks and so-on. MSoft's service at the moment is a bit flaky; you wonder what's going to break next.LoesungErde
