Receiving email on alias but not able to send any emails - Outlook on the web?

Hey folks,

I've created a couple alias email addresses via Outlook itself (via https://account.live.com/names/Manage) but recently when I try sending an email from any of them it simply does not get sent? I can receive emails on those aliases.

This on Outlook in the browser (not the app), I select the alias I want to send from and it shows in my sent box but it never reaches the recipient. I've tired multiple different recipients and no it is not going to their spam either, double checked that. This used to work, are aliases just broken now? UGH!

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

    I can't find the exchange admin centre.

    I have outlook browser. I can't sent from my alias even when I choose it at the top.

    I can send from my other email address but not my alias

    please help

    Same issue for me. "Send from alias" turned is on in Exchange but no "Addresses to send from" section in Outlook. Every email sent just resorts to my primary.

    The same case:

    1. In Exhange Admin: I did as advised above: "Select the checkbox next to Turn on sending from aliases."
    2. In Outliook Web: There is no Addresses to send from in  Settings > Email > Compose and reply..

    Seeing as this is the leading search result for people with 365 work/business accounts too.

    I thought it would be useful to include the solution that will solve this issue here.

    To send from Outlook for web or application.

    Firstly the end user can't fix this. An admin has to resolve Step 1:

    Step 1:

    How to turn on sending from aliases in Admin Panel with 365.

    By default, sending email from aliases is turned off. An admin needs to turn it on it in the Exchange admin center first.

    Sign in to the Exchange admin center. Use your Microsoft 365 email address and password.

    Select Settings, then Mail flow.

    Select the checkbox next to Turn on sending from aliases.

    Select Save.

    Step 2:

    Now the user you can send from an Alias!

    Unfortunately this solution doesn't work, I have already turned on sending from alias in Exchange 365.

    The problem is when I use the Outlook web interface there is no way to put my alias in the "from" field.

    It does work on my outlook 2019 app, works fine, but not on 365 web interface.
