Hello Microsoft Community. I've seen various versions of this bug around and it seems to not be getting resolved. It would be great if others could simulate my use case for this bug and confirm it's not just me - as well as pose a solution or help me get Microsoft to address it!

In a nutshell, emails in the New Outlook (PC) will get stuck in 'Drafts' forever in the following scenario (imap emails):

  • I am Replying to or Forwarding an email from my Inbox.
  • If I Archive the original email in my Inbox after finishing my Reply immediately after hitting 'Send'. In other words, if I don't wait 3-5 seconds to ensure it sends first.
  • The email will get STUCK in Drafts and never Send. There's nothing I can do to Send it. I have to go find the original email and retype and send the message.

Feel free to watch this short video showcasing exactly what's happening: https://youtu.be/yv3797dJlj8

    This worked for me,

Click on the Send receive at the very top bar

    Click on Work offline

Got to draft and delete it or click on the garbage can

    Click on Send receive

Click on Work offline. This will set it to Work online again.

    Hope this helps you!

I don't think this suggestion is particularly helpful, I've looked at Outlook (the forced rollout to replace Mail) and there isn't a Send/Receive at the very top bar. Which version of Outlook does this relate too?

This issue is still happening for me. I did notice one or two messages earlier in the week did send ok when I was replying or forwarding a message but the vast majority have failed to send. I do not have problems sending new emails, it's just the replies and forwarded content that poses a problem as reported here by other users.

Ironically whenever the taskbar alerts me to knew messages in this thread, if I click on one of those alerts it conveniently opens the older 'Windows Mail ' which works much better than Outlook. Shame MS don't ditch Outlook and go back to Mail, at least they fixed 99% of the bugs in that.

We had 9 users with this issue, and they all are reporting that the issue is no longer occurring as of the beginning of this week. Maybe MS found the issue and fixed it?

Same Issue! This delay and my not wanting to waste time sitting and staring at the screen to make sure it has sent, has caused me some serious delays to my customers and supply houses!

Over this! Needs a fix quickly or I will move to another program of some sort.
