I am trying to copy and paste from one email to another and outlook will not keep the format. This is the new outlook app so there is no File tab like suggested in every other answer.

Adding onto this. Extremely annoying that Microsoft decided the copy-paste behavior for new Outlook will be "Paste text and merge format" without giving us a way to customize the default. Huge oversight on Microsoft's part that I hope they fix soon.
I have the same issue as everyone else here, except none of the workarounds work for me. I lose all coloring and bolding and bullet points. Worse for me though is that it is stripping links. I'm copying a report from a report generator that I need to send out to multiple people, and it has links to files and webpages in it, but those links are gone.
After pasting, I don't get any little popup at the bottom of my pasted test allowing me to choose new formatting. And the paintbrush in the Format Text ribbon doesn't do anything different.
I have to send out this report daily, so this is a huge problem for me. I don't know that I can use the new Outlook until this is fixed.
(Today I've pasted it into a Word doc, because Word keeps the formatting and links)
This needs to be fixed ASAP. Copy/paste has worked for YEARS! Even when there was no subscription and a perpetual license in every previous version of Office...now we are paying annually for bad updates/products. This has ALWAYS worked. The workarounds are not work-arounds, they have always been there...just never needed.
Additionally, pasting into word, for example has same bad formatting (ie not what was copied).
copy / paste needs to work.
It is stunning to me how Microsoft steps backwards with functionality that has been around for ages in Outlook and is supported in Word. Why waste so many people's time researching how to do simple 'paste special' for the new Outlook. I've read threads where Microsoft staff seem surprised. Come on. Someone made a conscious decision in the feature roadmap for the new Outlook to not include features like paste special (and also mess up print to pdf or save as pdf when using dark mode).
It looks like i have to go back to the old outlook. I am also removing most of my email accounts from outlook and going back to the browser approach.
Very disappointed.

Same, I tried in the downloaded version of Outlook and the Outlook 365 online (whatever that is called).
