New Outlook APP Does not keep formatting when copy and pasting into another email

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the formatting when copying and pasting from one email to another in the new Outlook app for Windows. After testing from my end using "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" shortcut in New outlook, i am not facing the same issue.

New outlook works as outlook on the web so there is not File option in new outlook.

However, to better understand the problem and provide a solution, we need more details from you, please provide us with the following information. Thank you. 1-Please may I know which specific setting via File in classic outlook are you referring to? if it is possible give me all the steps 2-Please can you use "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" shortcut in New Outlook, to check if this will paste the content with the original formatting.

3- you can try using the "Paste Special" option. To do this, right-click where you want to paste the content, select "Paste Special", and then choose "HTML Format" or "Rich Text Format" depending on the content you are pasting.

4-Try to copy past first in notebook and make a change then copy and pasted in your new emails and check the issue

I'm sorry but Tom is 100% correct. The newest Outlook strips "lists" formatting (like bullet points and numbering) that is copied from an email. Here is an example that you can test this with. It happens every single time with Outlook Version 1.2024.111.100. This doesn't seem to impact font formatting such as bold / italics / etc.

Step 1 - navigate to an email from your sent items that has bullet formatting...

Step 2 - copy the formatted text.

Step 3 - Open Word or even a new email

Step 4 - paste contents.

Step 5 - smash your head on your desk because it will not copy / paste correctly.

I have been experiencing the same issues.

I had created a "template" email for one of my daily emails. In the "Classis" Outlook I could open the template email, copy the contents, then paste them into the new email screen that I had opened.

The New Outlook doesn't have the pasting options when the mouse is "right clicked" like Classic Outlook. There is just "Paste" or "Paste as plain text."

When I opened the template and used the CTRL+V action you suggested in the response to Tom, the formatting wasn't kept. I had specific font colors in the template but when they were pasted into the new email, the text was black - not blue.

It appears that the other settings imported for me when I switched from Classic Outlook.

I am very happy that the "Pin" email option is available in the New Outlook. Thank you for keeping that action with the New Outlook.

I too am having the same issue. When there are links specifically in an email body and that body is copied (standard blue text active link), the blue formatting nor the linked text is copied. The text is just a black font with no blue and the link is not kept.
