I am trying to copy and paste from one email to another and outlook will not keep the format. This is the new outlook app so there is no File tab like suggested in every other answer.

The difference is whether using Outlook on the web, Outlook on the PC, or a mobile app. My Outlook on the web does not handle formats.

    omg I HAVE THE SOLUTION!!!!!

When you copy and then paste, at the bottom of the pasted material there is a very tiny box. Hover over that and choose the left (1st of 3) icon. It's a clipboard icon and it says (Ctrl).

My coworker showed me this and IT WORKED!!

    Thank you for sharing this!

Why is this issue not being fixed. What an oversight in development and backword movement for your APP.

I tried this and it worked like a charm. I have a number of templates I store as Word documents fro my ACT Database, this option works. Thanks so much.

Most of the time, formatting is pasted as it appears from excel. I am not using the "Try the new Outlook" option.

I have used shortcut keystrokes for MANY years without issue. under several levels of settings, there appears to be more options, but seems that "keep source formatting" should be what it says. Most of the time it works...but not always.

This has worked for dozens of years. why break it MS?
