New Outlook APP Does not keep formatting when copy and pasting into another email

I already do daily what you described in your response.

However, the colors in the template in the email I sent to myself do not paste into the new email I create daily. I used to be able to Copy/Paste the formatting.

Microsoft should update Outlook so that it again allows for that.

It is frustrating because it is time consuming.

It is annoying for sure, but you can just use a different strategy for creating a template:

• Create your formatted email with subject line, bold, colour/highlighted headings, any attachments that might be part of your template.
• If there are elements you want to act as placeholders for inserting custom info later, in either your subject line or message body (e.g. square brackets or ____), include those too.
• Sign off with your nice signature.
• Email the message to yourself (you could even include a note or instructions to yourself at the top of the message)
• Instead of copy & paste, you can "Forward" the message to create a new Draft that retains all your nice formatting;
• While it is still in Draft, remove the "FW" from your Subject line and edit any customizations in the subject line.
• Remove the header information or instructions you left in at the top (from when you emailed it to yourself) and update your salutation line, Dear so-and-so, etc.
• Update any other customizations in the body of the email.
• Address and send the message to your intended recipient.
• Repeat for additional recipients (ideally going back to start from your clean initial template, to avoid the risk of leaving in any of the previous recipent's information).

The benefit of this over copying and pasting is that it doesn't require you to recreate a new subject line from scratch and it also keeps any attachments that you would normally include for all recipients everyone, without having to re-attach with each new message (as when you would previously copy & paste).

The only drawback is if you have customized attachments for a specific recipient, it will attach those at the end of the attachments list, rather than the beginning. I don't think you can rearrange the priority of how attachments are listed (at least I haven't seen that you can). Not the end of the world, but I usually like to attach files with higest priority showing first.

It was working for me and now this morning it doesn't. Frustrating.

I too am experiencing the same issues with copy and pasting formatting. It appears @microsoft has not replied since the origin of this thread. Can we get an update from Microsoft that this is a known issue and in development or we are all doing something wrong :)

I have the same issue. Spacing and highlighted text do not copy over any more.
