How can I mount a data file (pst) in new outlook. In the classic version this is doable through the File menu which is not available in new outlook.

Need to create a pst file and upload a previously created pst file into outlook. This was an effortless exercise in classic outlook with readily available option in File menu. How do I get to that functionality in the new outlook.

Same problem. Using Office 365. New Outlook spontaneously took over this morning and original Outlook is no longer in my apps. I have critical .pst files that I use daily that I can no longer access. How can I revert back to original Outlook when a) the toggle is broken in new outlook and b) original outlook is not an option in the start menu? Or is there some way to access .pst files from new Outlook? I am still in shock this happened with NO warning or action on my part. MSFT's own information says original Outlook is supported through 2024! Any help appreciated.

I use the very 'old style' solution to open a pst in the new outlook.

Use the Mail (Microsoft Outlook) add in your control panel.

    Go to 'data files'

Add the PST file as you need it.

Its stupid its not supported in the new outlook as is (even though I am a paying O365 user, MS still forced me into this new outlook, very unhappy with it)

If anyone else arrives here for that reason, I hope this one can help them out

I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. I hope that Microsoft is work on a fix for this. Outlook has always use an OST file for the main account, the PST file is used as an archive file. One wouldn't want to import the contents of a PST into the primary email account, as the whole point of a PST is to be able to archive old data off to store in case it's needed later.

The other ridiculous problem with New Outlook is with adding other email accounts or Shared email accounts. With regular Outlook they show as independent email boxes (as they should). Once New Outlook is turned on they fold into my primary email account... Augh.

I've tried turning New Outlook on a number of times and I then promptly turn it right back off again. PLEASE add the "File" menu along with all its functionality in to New Outlook.
