I'm another average guy. Running a tiny business. I have been using Outlook since it was invented.
I have a .pst file that I have successfully used between two locations (one of which has no internet capability - my choice). So I rely on having my full working email with me even if I can't send/receive.
Like everyone else on this string dating back over 1 year, I am shocked that MS could have done something so assinine as to "re-invent the wheel" in their "NEW" Outlook and not have allowed a provision to import a .pst file.
I've read the whole year's worth of complaints and peoples suggestions (all appreciated), and the absolutely useless responses from MS. If the monitors of this forum are connected to MS, this should have been reported to Satya Narayana Nadella immediately!!!!!
I could scream at the waste of time over the last 2 weeks of my life, and the stress this has caused.
Your suggestion to download the Classic Outlook as per your link above (Feb 13 by Nitin) is the fix. Going back to basics and also now searching for an external email client so I can get off this merry go-round forever. Suggestions appreciated.
Edit March 16, 2025: To be clear, Win11 in effect makes the user open the New Outlook. Most normal people would not think twice about this as it would just seem like another normal upgrade process. WRONG!!!
I had to wipe my drive clean. I then reinstalled WIN10 which gave me back the original Outlook. I was then able to direct it to my .pst file. Problem solved but at a huge personal cost in time. https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10
Thank you to everyone for their suggestions.
