How can I mount a data file (pst) in new outlook. In the classic version this is doable through the File menu which is not available in new outlook.

Need to create a pst file and upload a previously created pst file into outlook. This was an effortless exercise in classic outlook with readily available option in File menu. How do I get to that functionality in the new outlook.

    Nick, at this point I would not bet that MS wouldn't do exactly that - release new versions of Excel or Word that are not backward compatible. They seem to be getting just that arrogant and stupid. And, just like in this case, their 'workaround' would be 'just use the old version for that.

    This is incredibly aggravating! Now you force everyone to use NEW outlook, and it won't support local data files? You need to fix this now. I can't believe Microsoft actually did this. Stupid stupid stupid!!!!!!!!!!

    I am currently looking for an alternative to Outlook, as I absolutely do not want my data files hosted on the cloud.

    This version of Oulook is without a doubt the worst "upgrade" since Windows Vista!

    Hi. I purchased a new computer last week with Microsoft 365 loaded. Ive spent a week trying to figure out why I can't transfer my old, emails to the new computer in archive, so it won't take up all the space on my phone. But i couldn't figure it out. After reading all of these emails about the issue, i finally see the light as to why. I gave the new version of outlook. What a scam. Thanks however to each of you for talking about it so at least i won't waste my time to keep trying to do this. I did see however that microsoft says they will have a fix to allow the new version of outlook at least read these types of files by January. Has this occurred yet?
