How can I mount a data file (pst) in new outlook. In the classic version this is doable through the File menu which is not available in new outlook.

If you haven't already, try visiting the earlier replies I've posted - I did find a work-around, but you have to be on desktop application and switch back to Classic Outlook - but the pst files still work once doing so.

It looks like this conversation was begun in March 2024 with 100+ replies. Not giving Outlook users the ability of using .pst data files???? What was Microsoft thinking? I didn't read all the posts, but some say "that option is coming ...". When? It's already been 10 months. Until then I'm back to Outlook Classic, unless I find another mail tool that works better than this. As it stands now, I changed my password on my Gmail account, and now I can't use Outlook Classic to see it. I tried using an app password from Gmail, but I couldn't find a place to enter the new password in Outlook. I can setup a Gmail account in Outlook (new), but again, no .pst data files!!! From what I've seen of Outlook (new), it's a watered down version with very little options I have grown to use in Outlook. Nice job Microsoft for making Outlook 'new and improved'.

Great response. These TECH people at MICROSOFT are there to make money. PST files no matter how many you have or the amount of data you have within them are stored on your computer and not hosted or supported in the CLOUD.

For me I have lost the ability in (NEW) Outlook to attach over 1TB pst file.

I have had to use NEW outlook because I am/was using OUTLOOK 2016 using my HOTMAIL account, but now i cannot authenticate, but using my password it fails and MS technicians have stated to me that OUTLOOK 2016, does not allow MODERN AUTHENTICATION, which means I cannot use OUTLOOK 2016.

MS are making money from this CLOUD stuff. I hate it. Bring back onsite EXCHANGE servers.

However how are MS going to response this issue of attaching PST file in NEW OUTLOOK!!!!!!!!

Would Microsoft release Excel that will not open XLSX files or Word that will not open DOCX files, no of course not so why the hell did they do it to Outlook.
