How can I mount a data file (pst) in new outlook. In the classic version this is doable through the File menu which is not available in new outlook.

Per this document, PSTs are not supported in the preview but will be coming soon.

The frustration is real - and I agree, it feels like a money-grab.

I have M365, but use it through the desktop application as the cloud version lacks features I use daily. Still, mailbox sizes are limited, and archiving for many businesses is a must. In this world of electronic delivery of documents, mailbox capacity depletes rapidly - so offline mailbox for archival purposes becomes a must. (Ah, but that too can be purchased for a price - reoccurring of course). Nah, thanks - I don't mind doing the work and facilitating the backups, but to completely remove my ability to do so - that's unwarranted.

If MSFT wants to sell the service as a convenience, and people are willing to pay for it - great - good for them. But if people want the ability to save their items themselves, MSFT shouldn't remove the ability to do so.

I am back in the prior version - and was able to restore my offline mailboxes for now.... till it gives me trouble yet again.

I can still open my stand-alone Outlook which I have used for years buy now it keeps telling me via Windows Security pop-up it needs my password. Everything I have tried I get the same annoying message! I used to be very well organized with folders which I can still see but I cannot copy them over, forward them OR do anything with any .pst or.ost files created. This is making me a little crazy!

I am a retired UPS Manager with Information Services background and have relied on Microsoft Outlook since we used an internal application named "SYSM". It was limited and truthfully looked prehistoric but at least it worked!

If you would PLEASE share how you reverted back to the ability to access your folders...I could not THANK YOU enough! I would happily send you a Bouquet of Roses!

I rolled back to the old outlook by pressing start, and searching for outlook. The old version was still there. I pinned it back to my taskbar, and unpinned the new outlook.

This is by far the stupidest thing I have seen from Microsoft....

NEW - should imply better and improved. So far, that is not the case.

My primary email account is ******@addendum.com, which is located on a Microsoft Exchange Server.

The order of my email accounts in the "new" Outlook is:
******@hotmail.com
******@addendum.com
******@addendum.com

Why does Microsoft remove necessary features like the ability to order the Email accounts in the order I use them in. The email account I use the most, ******@addendum.com

For math majors, thats:
28 years, 2 months, 3 weeks
so there are a lot of emails to keep track of.

I created TWO .PST files to put very old emails into.

One was for last years emails and the other one for emails older than last year.

I just wastes 1.4 GBs of disk space.

That's OK since I have 4 GBs to start with.

I was forced to create a Hotmail account to use Microsoft apps.

I never use it for sending or receiving emails!

I've seen apps that do NOT order a "Dropdown List" in any useful order.
Because the programmer did NOT see the need.

What an idiot, and the design team he rode in on...

This is how I feel when I can NOT do simple things like:
Not be FORCED to GROUP emails in my Inbox by something like when the email was "Received", who it is "From," and the "Subject".

I routinely Order by From or Subject depending on what I am looking for.
As an example, when I sort by Subject, to find all the incident numbers on an ongoing 94-day issue that has NOT been resolved. In the "OLD" Outlook, it would sort by "Subject" then Date.
