How can I mount a data file (pst) in new outlook. In the classic version this is doable through the File menu which is not available in new outlook.

Need to create a pst file and upload a previously created pst file into outlook. This was an effortless exercise in classic outlook with readily available option in File menu. How do I get to that functionality in the new outlook.

I've just built a new machine for home and managed to install Classic without any issue and have relinked my old PSTs. Be good to keep up to date, but Microsoft clearly don't want to play the game and support their customers, just increase our annual subscriptions for lower quality products. (28% increase for me this year)

That suggests to me that there may be an issue with your M365 installation, you might consider repairing it, Start > Settings > Apps, find Microsoft 365 Apps in the list, click it, click Modify, and select either Quick or Online Repair. In my experience, Online Repair is more thorough. If the issue persists, please follow up here so we can dig deeper. If you can capture that random message in a screenshot, please consider posting it so we can have a look at it. Thanks!

If you buy a brand-new machine and buy an M365 subscription with it that includes Outlook, but you get Outlook New instead of Outlook Classic, the Classic is available for download here:

You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC - Microsoft Support

If you purchase this new machine without an M365 subscription, it will come with Outlook New as this has replaced the Windows 10/11 Mail and Calendar app. I've seen no data indicating that the above link will not work in such case nor have I seen any costs listed.

thanks MS Moderator, how can i drag drop MULTIPLE archived emails from new online Outlook?

At the moment, any folder (eg INBOX, SENT) or “ARCHIVED” emails MS OUTLOOK can only be downloaded (drag drop) to my desktop ONE AT A TIME - no multiple selection?

For all online email movements, MS Outlook allows me to select more than one email.

Perhaps MS Outlook has a setting to switch from SINGLE to MULTIPLE emails?

My preference is keeping archived emails on my desktop and external hard drive.

Is MS forcing me to store multiple “private” emails on a MS server somewhere.

Can MS Outlook explain how to select multiple emails and drag/drop to my desktop or external hard drive …

    thanks/cheers

    Max

For your information, I am using M365... anyway, I got the following in the new outlook:

In the classic, hard to show since is a random message that appears while using it, but basically I need to wait 5min to each click I do and several emails does not leave outbox.. it's always "not responding". Classic outlook died on 14/August in my side.. never was possible to work with it again...
