How can I mount a data file (pst) in new outlook. In the classic version this is doable through the File menu which is not available in new outlook.

The frustration is real - and I agree, it feels like a money-grab.

I have M365, but use it through the desktop application as the cloud version lacks features I use daily. Still, mailbox sizes are limited, and archiving for many businesses is a must. In this world of electronic delivery of documents, mailbox capacity depletes rapidly - so offline mailbox for archival purposes becomes a must. (Ah, but that too can be purchased for a price - reoccurring of course). Nah, thanks - I don't mind doing the work and facilitating the backups, but to completely remove my ability to do so - that's unwarranted.

If MSFT wants to sell the service as a convenience, and people are willing to pay for it - great - good for them. But if people want the ability to save their items themselves, MSFT shouldn't remove the ability to do so.

I am back in the prior version - and was able to restore my offline mailboxes for now.... till it gives me trouble yet again.

I can still open my stand-alone Outlook which I have used for years buy now it keeps telling me via Windows Security pop-up it needs my password. Everything I have tried I get the same annoying message! I used to be very well organized with folders which I can still see but I cannot copy them over, forward them OR do anything with any .pst or.ost files created. This is making me a little crazy!

I am a retired UPS Manager with Information Services background and have relied on Microsoft Outlook since we used an internal application named "SYSM". It was limited and truthfully looked prehistoric but at least it worked!

If you would PLEASE share how you reverted back to the ability to access your folders...I could not THANK YOU enough! I would happily send you a Bouquet of Roses!

You and I are without a doubt members of the THOUSANDS of disgruntled Outlook Email Group! I've fought this battle for weeks to no avail!

Up to this point I had trusted Microsoft to have our concerns and best interests in mind. Now I do believe I will just SELL my MICROSOFT STOCK!

I am an Information Services Manager for a World-Wide Delivery Company and this one moronic

change/lack of support by MSFT has brought us to our knees!

This is an attack on Outlook Email users to force everyone to purchase Microsoft 365 for a ridiculous fee.

I for one will not be "out done" and will continue to tear this apart until I find...as they say, "where there's a will there's a way" solution.

WHEN I find it, and I WILL, I'll post the solution or workaround for everyone to see!

I enjoy telling folks I was born in the 1950s BD. The BD is BEFORE DOS. We have alternatives in Office Applications.

Open Office and Thunderbird etc. Many versions of Linux as well. I AM SO DONE with Microsoft.

Import from an External PST File:

• Click on File in the Outlook menu bar.
• Select Open & Export > Import/Export.
• Choose Import from another program or file and click Next.
• Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
• Browse to the location of your PST file and select it.
• If the PST file has a password, enter it and click OK.

Where is "FILE"? I don't seem to have that option after switching to the new Outlook. I have several different offline data-files that I used in the Old Outlook that did not come through when I switched to the new one. Only my main domain mailboxes came over. This is a detriment and makes using the new Outlook completely impractical. Yet in attempting to switch back to the old Outlook, I am somehow not receiving new emails and just keep getting a "Not Responding" lag. It's left me completely inoperable for work tasks for 6 hours thus far today.

(It says it inserted an image I'm trying to share of my menu bar - but I don't see it on my end, so going to hit submit and hope for the best).
