I'll take a closer look at my own records tomorrow. Just want to tell you one important note, take a screenshot before making changes to your DNS records in case you change your mind and I don't mean to scare you... but yes, you can make a huge mess if you don't know what your are doing. There is one person here (or in another discussion) who wipes out his entire DNS records from 365 admin portal. He managed to fix it though.

It seems that you are under the impression I haven't done what you asked me to do, but I did! The SPF record was changed correctly except for the tilde vs hyphen question. I wanted that clarification because the company says that it takes 48 hours for it to propagate and I didn't want to wait another 48 hours only to find out that maybe the hyphen was an issue. And I did check the admin records on Microsoft 365.

As for the DMARC, I did check and as you said, it is showing no record found and yet there's this big long string that the company created in my settings. If they are incorrect, I don't know how to proceed in fixing it so that there is a correct DMARC record. They really aren't knowledgeable on this because when I gave them an example using a different domain, they actually entered that domain into my settings instead of using my domain while referring to the example. I don't know if this makes sense to you what I just wrote, but the only changes they're making are the changes I give to them. I was unable to edit my own DNS settings earlier this afternoon, but after I was done with them on chat, which is the only way they let me communicate with them, I was able to edit the DNS settings again. Not sure what the problem was with me not being able to edit them earlier. But I'm still on my own.

I'm really sorry if I have upset you with trying to help me. I would pay someone here to fix it for me but the first place I would consider is a half hour away from my office. And like I said, every time I change a setting, they tell me to wait 48 hours before it propagates. I would pay you if there were a way to do so. I just need this fixed, and I really don't want someone being upset with me. It's just been a tremendous amount of stress for me with my busy season. I'm actually considering getting a brand new email with Gmail so that I can continue communicating with my clients, but the old email is still going to be used and there's no way to keep both browsers open on Microsoft 365. I can't be signing in and out all the time. I'm sorry that this is so lengthy, I'm just desperate for answers. Again, I'm sorry if I've upset you.

Please don't feel obligated to respond, but I thought this might be helpful if you're still with me. Here is what the company entered for my DMARC record: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:*** Email address is removed for privacy ***; ruf=mailto:*** Email address is removed for privacy ***; fo=1

Do I delete this and start over? But again, please don't feel obligated to continue with helping if you're too busy or frustrated with me. I wrote some other stuff to namyzzo in a text earlier this evening. Maybe some of the information I provided there is helpful?

Thank you for the recommendation of a screenshot before making changes. And thank you for your time. I'll be checking in again tomorrow.

No, that wasn't what I meant. I wanted you to decide for yourself whether to use ~ or -

That's why I asked you to read it again to decide which one to use. As I said before, it can be tilde or dash/hyphen or question mark. You decide.

Btw, your SPF now shows up as valid.

Whoooaaaa.... I am not upset at all and apology is not necessary. I'm more comfortable offering free help online where the public (and other experts) can read/see it. The reason? If I lead you astray (by trying to scam you if I were a bad guy) or if I'm wrong (I don't claim myself to know everything), other experts can jump in to stop me or correct me. Be very careful accepting help from strangers online. There are many wolves in sheep's clothing on the internet. Never give strangers permission to edit your DNS. They can do serious damage to your domain name.

    How about keeping it simple?

v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:<email address where you want DMARC reports sent to>

Your DMARC is still not found when I search for it. I suspect it is entered incorrectly.

I think this clip can help (the clip shows how to add SPF record which you've already done): https://www.ipage.com/help/article/what-is-txt-record

DMARC record should look something like this:

Set TTL to 1 or 2 hours (or 60 to 120 minutes). Don't forget the underscore character before dmarc.
