Outlook emails not deliverable to yahoo and aol

I'll take a closer look at my own records tomorrow. Just want to tell you one important note, take a screenshot before making changes to your DNS records in case you change your mind and I don't mean to scare you... but yes, you can make a huge mess if you don't know what your are doing. There is one person here (or in another discussion) who wipes out his entire DNS records from 365 admin portal. He managed to fix it though.

I am having a similar issue - I am not receiving emails to my yahoo address but it is only certain senders that seem to be affected. They are getting a "returned" error and

Remote server returned '550 5.4.300 Message expired -> 451 [RL01] Message temporarily deferred'

There's no wrong answer. It can either be - or ~ (or ?) see article below

I asked you to check your 365 admin portal for the correct SPF record. It should tell you what your SPF should be. Copy (from 368 admin portal Expected record) and paste it to your DNS TXT record. If it doesn't tell you the expected record, read the SPF article I gave you earlier and the one below.

This article tells you the difference between -all ~all and ?all

The decision is yours.

No. DMARC and SPF are just DNS TXT records. They either exist or don't.

Last, if you just made changes to your DNS record, it may take hours for the new or updated records to propagate. Wait longer. You can use this link to check your DMARC: https://easydmarc.com/tools/dmarc-lookup

There are many other DMARC related sites out there. Look them up.

Thank you for your help. I'm fried tonight but will look at this more, tomorrow; besides, answers to my questions below will help me know how to proceed. I'm trying to follow Ron's instruction and I tried to find the info on Microsoft 365 but I'm having some trouble with this. I do know who has my DNS records and they are totally worthless in this effort - they DO NOT seem to know how to do anything with the settings unless I tell them what and how, and I'm a CPA in the heat of tax season! I can view and edit my DNS settings; since the company responsible for my DNS settings has really messed things up further, I will start to do this myself - hopefully I don't make it worse. Here is what is currently in the DMARC TXT line: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:@mxtoolbox.dmarc-report.com; ruf=mailto:@forensics.dmarc-report.com; fo=1 Do I delete this and start over?

I'm not quite sure how to apply your recommendation for the DMARC file. I have an @ symbol already in the Name field; how do I proceed with this? Then, I'm not given an option for a Value field; how do I proceed? I can figure out how to enter this: v=DMARC1; p=reject; rua=mailto:********@ourwebsite.com but I only have a TTL option for 2 Hours which I'm guessing isn't a big deal.

I thought I would post a little info. Ron helped get ours up and going = So Definitely Keep Following his directions. Read the Microsoft link and also log into your 365 Admin account to get the correct info for your particular settings.

Alot of sites are saying Starting February Yahoo will require proper settings. So its good to get this figured out and out of the way - even if it doesn't fix your issue.

Here is what was sent to "our DNS guy" = that setup our domain name and website 6 some years ago. (The info below was sent from our other guy that handles the 365 Admin side of things.)

Now, the above changes that was sent to our "DNS GUY" = fixed our problem sending to Yahoo.com addresses.

However - I just noticed we still have issues according to the tools Ron advised to use. DKIM empty.!

So, I will have to look into our settings further..

ICANN Lookup = helps to confirm who your domain name/DNS is run by..

MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox = has multiple tests (MX, SPF, DNS..etc)
