Why is Microsoft trying to force me to use outlook? The app is just awful and I will not use it. I have had a hotmail account since 2000 and use mail tab on windows. Now it keeps wanting to switch me to the piece of **** outlook. Forcing this on people is ****. I will stop using microsoft email completely if this is the way it will be. Why are you doing this to people. Searching the web shows that this is really a bad move from Microsoft and is a ploy to make more money from ads. If this is the case,<removed>

Right now your lucky you have that button on the top right you can switch off but very soon that button will be gone and when that outlook pops up you will be stuck with it. It is pure garbage that microsoft is holding people hostage.

I am being FORCED to use outlook and I will have no part of it -
However it has taken over and made my calendar disappear
I see no possible way to exit out of it and just go back to plain calendar

And today I opened my Mail app and it popped up a box saying that it was switching to Outlook. I decided I'd give it a try and see if it was any better.
To be honest, I have no idea if it's better or not. And I'll never find out. Because after Outlook opened up, I clicked the Inbox and clicked on the first message without even thinking...because that's what I always do. And it was an ad. So, from what I can tell...the reason why Microsoft switched everyone from Windows Mail to Outlook was so that they could inject ADS!!!!!!
So, the whole "we're not forcing you into a paid product" should be changed to "we're not 'forcing' you....but we're going to inject so many friggin ads that you'll switch to the paid version to get rid of them. And that....is YOU choosing to...not us FORCING you"
Can't agree more. Maybe there will be some methods for users to switch back in the near future XD.
I'm really getting sick of this Outlook. I like Windows Mail. I pay for Office 365, and this version out Outlook is VASTLY inferior. It seems to simply be a web wrapper rather than a proper application. I could be wrong about this. It consistently loads the new Outlook when I opt out again and again and again. But my issue is: I pay for Office 365. I should NOT see any ads in my inboxes. Yet, they appear (and then disappear within a few seconds). But I actually PAY MICROSOFT! I reached out to Microsoft the first few times and they asked me for a quantity of logs, details, etc when I was showing them photo proof. I was dissuaded to 1) pay them to be 2) their guinea pig and 3) their pseudo QA team.
