Outlook PWA, how to change spellcheck back to right click

Moving the spell check to the left click is the single most frustrating interface I have ever used. It has led me to move away from Outlook to Gmail. How can Microsoft defend a design change that makes people want to use different software? Makes no sense. Case in point: I just misspelled "sense" and used right click to fix it in this reply - which is something i cannot do in Outlook (Hotmail!). I understand people don't like change but this one is so ridiculous as to make me want to end my 30 year relationship with Hotmail altogether. I literally try not to open Outlook because of this one change.

And while i am at it why can't you automatically capitalize a single "I"? - see what i did there? (i hate this in Gmail too).

If you want me to have a better user experience forget the complicated AI stuff like "copilot" and do these simple things. Not interested in anything new you want me to try if you can't do the basics. Rarely comment on anything for any reason but the above issues are deal breakers for me. Don't overthink it.

Auto correct in Word is right click. Outlook and word should be the same. Does not make sense that all MS Office apps do not use same UI.

This is soooo fustrating. For decades, spell checking has always been right-click. This is a ridiculous change. Even in the desktop programs of Word, Outlook, etc. left-clicking a word brings up that stupid menu.

Anyway, I think I've found a solution that works for me. If you go to the Options tab, click on Editor, then Editor settings, you can turn off spelling and grammar checking. I've found that you need to turn off both spelling and grammar checking. This then seems to force the use of the built-in browser spell checking, and allows me to right click to change spelling. Might need to refresh the page. I'm using Microsoft Edge. Doesn't have grammar checking, but not really an issue for me.

Who gets paid by Microsoft to make dumb decisions about user interface? If you are trying to frustrate your clients with dumb stressful gimmicks, that person needs a rise and a promotion. Microsoft is becoming a company that "complicates" simple stuff, to stress the clients. If this is the objective, congratulations ash.

The design choice made by the outlook team to improve productivity has actually backfired. I do not use a mouse and use the keyboard drop down menu to cross check my spelling. replacing this with an Emoji option does not make sense in a business environment which is what outlook is about. At least give the option to have it both ways and let the user decide on the experience they want to go through. This might force me to go back to the old outlook.
