For some emails, yellow envelope started appearing in email icons in Outlook. What does it mean?

Starting this week, some emails (all of them are sent from internal domain) in Outlook shows yellow envelope icon. Opening and reading this email does not make this icon disappear. The only way to get rid of if it is to reply to the email, then the envelope is replaced with arrow.

Is this some new feature, bug or something is wrong iwth our Exchange server?

This is how it looks like in Outlook:

It should be noted that not all emails require a reply. I know if I send out an announcement company wide via email, the last thing I want is 600 emails saying "Received" or "Thanks" just to get rid of the envelope.

Hello, I can confirm this started to happen after applying Exchange CU23 SU12 KB5036386. Even sent emails have the yellow envelope icon. This happens only for internal emails.

Hope this gets fixed with next update.

We have 4 Exchange 2016 servers in a DAG. One of the servers updated last night to March SU, and this is happening for us as well since that update.
