For some emails, yellow envelope started appearing in email icons in Outlook. What does it mean?

Starting this week, some emails (all of them are sent from internal domain) in Outlook shows yellow envelope icon. Opening and reading this email does not make this icon disappear. The only way to get rid of if it is to reply to the email, then the envelope is replaced with arrow.

Is this some new feature, bug or something is wrong iwth our Exchange server?

We are also experiencing this behavior on our environment starting this week (18 March 2024).

We are using an on-prem Exchange 2016 server and Outlook 2016 clients.

The yellow envelope mostly appears on mails from internal users and disappears when you send a reply on an e-mail.

Same issue on our network after the March Exchange update. Seeing this in Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2019.
