For some emails, yellow envelope started appearing in email icons in Outlook. What does it mean?

Starting this week, some emails (all of them are sent from internal domain) in Outlook shows yellow envelope icon. Opening and reading this email does not make this icon disappear. The only way to get rid of if it is to reply to the email, then the envelope is replaced with arrow.

Is this some new feature, bug or something is wrong iwth our Exchange server?

    This just started happening to all of our users today. The envelope only shows up on internal organization users.

    It would be nice if Microsoft would fix this, or at least tell us how.

    Same thing here for emails from internal users only ... started AFTER March Updates including the March SU for Exchange 2019 CU14.

    We have the same issue happening here. Yesterday I started installing the March updates on our Exchange 2016 servers.

    Exact same symptoms here too.

    1 - started after Exchange 2019 CU14

    2 - only appearing on emails sent from internal email accounts

    3 - yellow envelope appearing, no additional information when hovering mouse over icon

    4 - yellow envelope changes to reply/forward arrow depending on action.

    5 - affecting outlook 2019, 2021 H&B versions so far.

    6 - does not affect OWA - no envelope appearing

    Could we have clarification if this is a new feature, and what it means, as it is not evident?

    Or, can you let us know that it is in fact a small bug and will there be a new update to fix?

    Having same issue within an Outlook 2010 client with over 15 users.

    Anybody have an idea of a fix or have news of a fix?
