Starting this week, some emails (all of them are sent from internal domain) in Outlook shows yellow envelope icon. Opening and reading this email does not make this icon disappear. The only way to get rid of if it is to reply to the email, then the envelope is replaced with arrow.
Is this some new feature, bug or something is wrong iwth our Exchange server?

it seems to indicate messages not replied to yet? once you reply the arrow replaces the envelope
We are experiencing this issue with out Office 2021 LTSR deployment since the March 2024 update, only on internal emails. Appears to be a bug, hopefully this issue gets some traction and MS fix it for next month's updates (or sooner if a workaround is found)
I can't figure out what the envelope even means. It shows on inbox items, mostly internal. As well as everything I send, drafts, etc.
In the case of drafts, it can even be a brand new draft with just my signature:
If you reply or forward a message that has the icon, it gets a new reply/forward icon instead of the envelope.
I ended up on this thread after a client approached me with the same question yesterday - as of now, we also don't know more.
No offence, but if 29 people have the same problem, on top of the companies of some of the commenters, the correct response is that "we don't know what the problem is and we are working to resolve it".
We know we can reinstall the software, format the drive, change computers, or use other programs. But we don't want to do that...
Just to add, that for me, it is doing it only for specific senders so far.
