For some emails, yellow envelope started appearing in email icons in Outlook. What does it mean?

Starting this week, some emails (all of them are sent from internal domain) in Outlook shows yellow envelope icon. Opening and reading this email does not make this icon disappear. The only way to get rid of if it is to reply to the email, then the envelope is replaced with arrow.

Is this some new feature, bug or something is wrong iwth our Exchange server?

    This was caused by the March Security Update (SU) for Exchange. It is marked as a cosmetic issue since it shouldn't be appearing like it does (now) but doesn't seem to be breaking anything.

    "After installation of the March 2024 SU, newly received messages might show yellow envelope icon in Outlook client, no matter the read status of the message. This issue is cosmetic."

    It will be fixed along with other issues from the March SU.

    It is not a change in cosmetics. The icon is random and does not indicate anything in particular. The icon shows on e-mails sent from people within the organization and outside....at random. It isn't consistent, nor does it follow a set rule. Again, not a cosmetic change.

    What if the end user doesn't want THIS icon, but does want the rest of the icons? This should be able to be turned off in preferences for each user, imo.
