Google calendar not showing up in outlook even though it is showing as connected under 'settings>accounts'

Yesterday, my google calendar stopped being visable on my outlook calendar. It has worked for years and all of a sudden it's not. outlook is showing that the calendar associated with my gmail account is connected, but I am unable to view it. I have removed and readded my gmail twice and have tried several workarounds I have found online to no avail. I use both calendars for appointments and it's absolutely devastating to have this issue. My outlook email address is associated with work and my gmail is a personal email. This issue persists on both my desktop and Surface Pro. Can someone tell me how to git this resolved?

    I am pretty much going to have to abandon my google calendar and work solely with outlook, which sucks, but I don't see another option at this time. I hope this gets resolved because it was very nice to keep work appointments with outlook and personal ones with gmail.
