Calendar Sync of Office 365 calendar to Tripit

It is a cobbled-together solution but works for me as well. Thanks for your guidance.

I was considering to cease my paid Tripit subscription but with this temporary fix I'll wait a bit longer to see if this bug can be fixed - I also like the real-time updates like flight delays, gate changes etc. which are not in the free version.

Still don't understand where the problem is; all worked fine until I had to reinstall the web calendar after I switched to the 'new' Outlook, where it did not install anymore. I'm back with the 'old' Outlook as the new version does not work offline (very inconvenient if you travel a lot, another bug for Ms to fix). Re-installation of the web calendar in my old Outlook does not work either anymore. Luckily, with this workaround I have access to my trip itineraries through my calendar again.

On step 3... did you immediately see the calendar listed on the left side in outlook once you pasted and hit return?

This worked for me. See my post below on the steps I used. It doesn't update quickly but it does eventually update.

So this Tripit > Gmail Calendar > Outlook 365 works for me. It is not fast on the updates, but within 1-4 hours my travel events show up on my outlook calendar.

This is by definition a KLUDGE! Let's hope Microsoft and/or Tripit fix the problem so the direct connection we all used to count on works again. But until then, this is better than downloading and uploading each trip.

Here is what I did:

1. In Tripit (old interface, the new website... room for another rant):
   1. MyName > Settings > Subscribe > Subscribe to Calendar Feed
   2. Copy the .ics URL
2. In Gmail Calendar
   1. Other calendars > + (Add other calendars) > From URL
   2. Paste in the URL
   3. Check (turn on) "Make the calendar publicly accessible"
   4. Add Calendar
   5. Hover over the new calendar under "Other Calenders" and click on the three vertical dots > Settings
   6. Give it a good name and description
   7. Scroll down to Integrate calendar
   8. Grab the URL under "Public address in iCal format"
3. Outlook 365 Calendar Page (Desktop App)
   1. Scroll down to "Other Calendars" and right mouse button on "Other Calendars"
   2. Choose Add Calendar > From Internet
   3. Paste in the Gmail URL

That should work. I'm not sure how to force an update on the Gmail or Outlook side. It seems to take a bit of time to update.

I'm not able to do that -- Gmail -> Outlook 365. I get the same error message that I get when I try to add the TripIt.ics URL to Outlook 365. "Something went wrong. Please try again later."

I've integrated TripIt to Gmail just fine by the way. That's just not the calendar that I live by on a daily basis. That's Outlook for me.
