Calendar Sync of Office 365 calendar to Tripit

Hello

I have been using Tripit for years and it has successfully sync'ed with my Outlook Calendar. Today, I was unable to add the updated URL for the tripit calendar feed to my Microsoft 365 Outlook calendar. When I tried to add the URL under "add calendar/from internet" by pasting in the URL, I get an Microsoft error message that something went wrong. This did not happen previously.

    What a life-saver! It works for me too.

    Need to test it for few days/weeks because I use other shared calendars too (from other professionals in my company) and hope this change won't affect my other shared calendars. Will follow-up.

    As said, this works for now and thanks a lot for sharing this solution.

    Orange Fox - this works great! I guess Microsoft doesn't have the same definition of "improvements" than we do :-).

    I discovered the fix. It is a setting in the Outlook program*.

    FIX:
    In Outlook (on your PC)
    Select File > Account Settings> Account SettingsSelect the Data Files tab
    Highlight your default Outlook account (ie. yourname @ outlook . com)
    Select Settings>Advanced tab
    Uncheck "Turn on shared calendar improvements"
    Click OK and Close.
    Close and restart Outlook.
    Then add your Tripit calendar and select Yes to the pop up.

    I was able to add my Tripit feed and have confirmed via a few days of testing that it updates properly when I add, delete, or change things in Tripit. So far, so good. I also added a second Tripit feed, and replicated this same fix on another person's computer.

    Hope this helps someone.

    *I am using Outlook for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2403)

    This has been bugging me for a long time, and I don't have a Google calendar to use as a KLUDGE like others have recommended - plus, it just feels wrong. But today I can up with a quick fix that I hope will work going forward.

    I simply downloaded the ics file from the TripIt link, which looks something like this (yes, I've changed the GUID):

    https://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/private/0C6C4AA6-39A500CF87B79E7AEFAF250F75A77E63/tripit.ics Then I opened the ics file from my Downloads folder. I was prompted to answer several questions, but it worked, and the calendar was added.

    Now the question is whether it will sync over time.

    It's great that Google can help Microsoft with their shortcomings :-)

    I rarely post either, but really appreciate the contributors help me also solve this!
