Hotmail not receiving all emails (2024)

My Hotmail account is missing many emails, including important ones that I know the senders have emailed me and emails from senders who successfully emailed me in the past.

I checked junk email folder - no missed emails are there.
I checked rule - I have not created any rules.
I checked sweep - I have not created any rules.
I checked forwarding - I have not enable it at all.
I checked junk mail setting - I did not block anybody unnecessarily; I don't know who will email me in the future so I can't put everybody in the safe list.
I checked storage - I have only used 46%.

I tried accessing the Hotmail account both through a browser on a computer and my phone (gmail app). It is the same - emails are not received. I cleared the cache of my devices already. It did not help.

I do not know how many more emails I have been missing or how to fix it. Can anybody help please? Thank you.

    I have the same problem with my ...hotmail.com and ...hotmail.co.uk addresses.

    On my iMac using “Mail” I get the notification that the emails are downloading but they never appear. That was 8 emails on h..mail.com and 17 on h…mails lost.

    The emails do not show on online at https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/, I’ve checked all the mail boxes including junk but they are not there.

    This is presenting a serious problem because all my home accounts and memberships, etc are on Hotmail. I don’t know how many emails I have lost. The occasional advertising email gets through????

    This is clearly a hotmail problem because even the online page does not show the emails.

    None of the Microsoft fix methods work. It does not work on iMac, Android or online.

    Doug frustrated.

    It gets weirder yet..

    I also tested by sending myself an email by another address (not Hotmail) and it got refused by Hotmail. Either with or without attachments. BUT since it is also pop-ed to Hotmail it DOES send the Postmastersemmage that was sent to the senders address (it was popped right?) that the original message was refused (...)

    It opens the inbox but can open the mail BUT not the contents... and can't open the folders apart from the INBOX.

    Form the inbox stragely enough you can delete but not open deleted mails-folder

    would work but also this has a error message

    Endless waiting to send a message from Hotmail cot my own address whcih is popped to my Hotmail.

    However: strangely enough I CAN download the attachments of previous messages (by clicking in the inbox on the attachment) but not open the message itself.. huh ?

    This is exactly the problem I am facing. If its a sender I have mailed before then no problem!
