Hi,
In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.
I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.
I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,
Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.
These are not wants, they are absolute needs.
Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

Or you could dump Outlook and use Thunderbird or its enhanced version, BetterBird, for free. It consolidtaes your calendars too. MS will never fix this. Outlook has a consolidated view on every other device including OS Desktop, but not the main platform of the developer.
If you want to see which accounts have new mail just move your INBOXES for each account to the favorites folder on the left pane. I have 4 email accounts I right clicked on the INBOX of each one and selected add to favorites. Then I went to the favorites and selected the ones I wanted to remove and clicked on them and selected remove from favorites. Now for the last 4 months, all 4 INBOXES are in the upper left pane by themselves and have a BLUE number that tells me how many new emails are in the box. I just click on the INBOX in the favorites pane to list them.
There is no interface on how to add something to favorites in the newest office version which is publicly availiable at the moment (right-click (Kontext) Menu does not have an enty to "add to favorites").
I just switched to from the "old" to the "new" Outlook and have the same issue as everyone else on this thread.
I have no idea how often or even if these forums are monitored. Best bet may be to let MS know by using the direct feedback option in the "new" outlook.

If you go to the left column in email you should have FAVORITES at the top with a > on the left. Click the > and the items in the FAVORITES folder drop down. If you HOVER your mouse on a folder, you can see the 3 periods to the right of the item, if you LEFT click on these 3 periods you get the CONTEXT menu, which is the same as RIGHT clicking on the item itself.
Below FAVORITES are my 4 email accounts with a > on the left. I click on any > or the account name and the account folders drop down. I right click or you can left click on the 3 periods and a context menu appears. Select Add to Favorites and it appears under FAVORITES.
