New Outlook with multiple accounts

Hi,

In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.

I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.

I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,

Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.

These are not wants, they are absolute needs.

Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

    I also had this issue--a year go when these posts were going up. THERE WAS NO unified box and so many people (including myself) simply continued to use the older Mail program since it did. Last night I could no longer force Mail to open. I have spent the day converting to the new program (unhappily) believing there was no way they fixed the problem people were most vocal about. THEY HAVE NOT that I can find. Favorites simply puts all the accounts you want unified in a list at the top of the folders column. You still have to view your accounts one at a time. THANKS FOR NOTHING Microsoft--we appreciate your listening to your end users.

    I'm sorry but you should actually know what you are talking about before misrepresenting something. As a real IT professional and not the sorry excuse for the pretend ones on here (I know you aren't representing yourself as such), let me explain to you and anyone who has been misled by your link.

    A SHARED INBOX IS NOT a unified inbox - a shared inbox is for a group of people (say the BBC news team) to access the same emails, which will have, for example, the email address of ******@bbc.co.uk. When a member of the news team logs into his/her PC and then opens his/her email, that person will then see, and be able to open, the shared inbox. When someone sends an email to that address it goes into that inbox for all the team to read as long as that person on the team has permissions to 'see' the inbox. As it acts like a separate account this will result in yet another account in your list of multiple accounts.

    A unified inbox takes all your emails from every account and presents them in one place, acting like a search (which is why the workarounds for Microsoft's incompetence in this area is to do exactly that - make a search query to act like a unified inbox, which is a shoddy and rubbish solution).

    Microsoft NEEDS to get it's useless act together and sort this ASAP

    Adding myself in this discussion 1 year later as they forced me to leave windows mail app. Who the f- thought this wasn't a feature that needed priority?
