New Outlook with multiple accounts

Hi,

In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.

I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.

I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,

Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.

These are not wants, they are absolute needs.

Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

Any help appreciated.

As per Microsoft update, it will be rollout on March 2025

    Hi Mahadeer,

Does this mean it will be the same as the Mac version? (One all inboxes folder for added accounts not just outlook shared mailbox).

It seems pretty straightforward there should just be an all inboxes folder for the inboxes added as accounts i.e. gmail, pop/imap

Is this update only specific to shared mailboxes created in outlook? If not it wouldn't satisfy the issue of this specific forum.

    Best Regards,

    Cameron

Thanks to all for their responses. It is hard to believe that Microsoft didn’t build this capability into the new outlook from the beginning. Let’s hope the March update does allow all email accounts to be consolidated into one inbox folder.

I'm not sure you read this correctly (or MS has changed the spec!). Currently says will be possible to add Shared Mailboxes to New Outlook. That is not the same thing as unifying personal mailboxes.

To add salt to wound, I just found that you can't paste from one account to another (I store all my Contacts in one account, but can't paste a phone number from there to an email being written from another account). New Outlook really should be FOC as its feature set is not complete.
