Hi,
In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.
I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.
I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,
Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.
These are not wants, they are absolute needs.
Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

MICROSOFT IS 2024 UNIFIED INBOX VIEW IS A MUST. Im paying 365 and the useless copilot, make things work.
Also, the search tool is HORRIBLE
I have to agree, that this needs a unified account... I don't understand why the hard time with this...
Same issue here. As a small business, I needed to see if I had email from various sources. Because there was no way to see if I received new email for each account without opening them, I kept missing business because I did not know I had new email in various accounts and I get so busy it can be hard to remember to randomly check them all throughout the day.
I am back to "old" outlook even though it has issues with one of the attorney's calendars, oddly enough, from another Microsoft account.
If they used to be able to show the number of new email next to the email addresses, I am not sure why they cannot just turn that feature back on.
I have been reading this thread right up to now, as started by the original poster. Yet most people here keep talking about a Unified Inbox. That is not the problem the OP was having. Harry TTT graphically displayed the problem on June 23 in his post. This problem is the same one I am having. The New Outlook does not show new email count for each individual account. This is a killer for me.... I need to glance quickly at my several email accounts and know which ones have new email.
For this reason I delete the New Outlook and go back to Mail for Windows, which has worked very well for me.
For me the problem is twofold:
1 notification as you describe and
2 the loss of function where Outlook displays messages from multiple email accounts in to one linked (unified) inbox.
It is also unacceptable that Microsoft representatives on the forum have not provided any meaningful advice or updates for so long.
