Hi,
In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.
I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.
I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,
Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.
These are not wants, they are absolute needs.
Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

It specifically says:
"This is also great for people who have accounts from multiple providers, as they can access them all from one unified inbox."
This seems to imply an actual unified inbox not just all the accounts together in one mail app with separate inboxes. But they could be playing very loose with wording.
Thanks for the recommendation. I just installed BlueMail for Windows. I'm not sure what problems you experienced with it, but so far it seems okay. It fixes the main problems I had with "New" Outlook, namely the lack of a unified mailbox and the mind-bogglingly-stupid fact that you can't set the From name on your IMAP accounts. So I'll give it a try and see how it goes. I was doing fine with Thunderbird for a long time, but they had a number of performance killing bugs that made it impossible to use. Outlook was quick and light, but those 2 issues were deal breakers.
I have used Postbox for years. It has had it's fair share of problems and the last problem (read messages remain marked as unread and you have to manually mark every message as read) made me look at the new Outlook again.
But: STILL NO UNIFIED INBOX.........
And the conditional formatting rule is not supported for accounts other than MS. (Oh, let's just use our power to bully people into using MS accounts only)
Mickeysoft is doing a great job in alienating people.
I just found out why I prefer Outlook 2010.

In 365 I cannot do that, it says that operation is not supported….. so in 365 with multiple email addresses you are not allowed to file your emails where you want them.
Unless you can tell me different that just proves that 365 is rubbish.
I re-discovered how to do unified inbox for pop, and it is quite simple.
The idea is to associate the same .pst data file with each email account. Thus, each email account downloads email to the one inbox in the data file.
File->Account Settings->Account Settings... and from there choose the same data file for each account.
I do not know if this can be done with IMAP.
