New Outlook with multiple accounts

Hi,

In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.

I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.

I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,

Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.

These are not wants, they are absolute needs.

Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

    As a last resort and to my surprise I found a solution!

    I have 4 email accounts 2 x 365 and 2 x IMAP and I was struggling like everyone else to get an overview of all 4 in the Favourites box top left. I deleted the defaults (I'm sure you know how to do this) leaving me with one 365 account [Inbox] and one IMAP account [Inbox] and then I closed down Outlook. Started Outlook again and added a second 365 [inbox]. Shut down Outlook again and after restart I added the second IMAP [inbox]. I now have all four accounts' [inbox] in the Favourites box.

    No skill, just persistence and good luck.

    Even more frustrating was any other folder than an [Inbox] I could add without a problem.......

    Its July 2025 and still the same problem exists with the new version of Outlook on my iPhone :(

    Viewing all inboxes is very basic for email. Hey Microsoft developers, wake up and either tell everyone how to do it or fix it!

    Try Spark Mail, from the Ukrainian company Readdle. I ditched Outlook for Spark Mail for use on Windows 11, as Spark has, yes, an Unified Inbox! I use the free version, which works seamlessly in catering for my various Gmail accounts, plus it syncs seamlessly with say Google Calendar. It has a smart looking interface, is often updated, plus has various paid for customisations. From Wiki for example:

    "In 2023, Spark introduced artificial intelligence features for premium users. Dubbed 'Spark +AI', the service first launched by utilising Microsoft Azure OpenAI software to draft, rewrite, and contour emails on behalf of users. In 2024, Spark +AI continued to enhance its service by rolling out a new feature which supports AI content generation in the style of the end-user, allowing for more human-like/natural email construction."

    I can't vouch for the latter but can thoroughly recommend the free version. Plus, as a bonus, it's great to support a Ukrainian company.

    I tried thunderbird and liked it but it was so -- ugly -- nevertheless, seemed to work and have everything I wanted, the search function was a bit glitchy. MS needs to get it together because even big companies are listening to their employees and switching to other programs to not have to deal with so many glitchy apps like Teams and Outlook.
