New Outlook with multiple accounts

I have been using Thunderbird and I have tried the one suggested, the same problem appears to be unfixable on both, it does not delete files properly, and I am left with this heading with a stupid date and delectable,
It is removed on restarting BUT I have to do that for every 7-10 emails, it is so frustrating that I have decided to put up with the Windows second-rate client, all others I have tried on the free tier have something missing, either too limited in accounts, won't sort by date etcetera.

Betterbird is well-maintained. Especially the recurrent amnesia of Thunderbird with login credentials has been solved.

The Thunderbird team is unresponsive.

I have not experienced crashes on Win11 and the app is lightning fast with 160k emails. I use Gmail, Outlook, Gmx, Yahoo and other providers and it all works well.

With Thunderbird there were random issues and frustrations.

These guys took the Thunderbird codebase and fixed and improved it. Email has just become an app that I use but never notice, because it works ...

Thanks. I was actually pretty satisfied with Thunderbird but I noticed that they actually released Betterbird 128.5.0esr-bb18, yesterday on 26 November 2024 and 128.5.0esr was the version I was using on Thunderbird. Thanks for the feedback.

Thankyou for this. It resolves the problem I posted waaaay back .... trying to just list each of numerous accounts I have and displaying the number of new emails after each one. Works great for me so I suppose I will keep using the new Outlook. I do not need a unified single Inbox as others apparently do.....

I was forced to quit using the old "classic" version of Outlook 365 a few months back due to the requirement that users must now authenticate to the SMTP using OAuth2 instead of using your ID and Password. I had a strange setup where I configured my inbound server to use my Gmail ID and Password and my outbound server was configured to use my Outlook.com ID and Password. By forwarding my Outlook mail to my Gmail account I was able to have my email scanned twice by both providers before the message appeared in my inbox. It seemed strange to me that If Microsoft was going to force users to authenticate with OAuth2 they would have updated Outlook 365 to included that ability within the manual configuration settings but the only option was ID and Password so my configuration was broken and could not be fixed.

I tried unsuccessfully to find a way to setup a unified inbox using both my Gmail and Outlook.com accounts in Outlook 365 but apparently from what's been stated here previously, that isn't feasible unless both accounts are Microsoft accounts so I switched from Outlook to Thunderbird.

The initial account setup was pretty straight forward and I was up and I was up and running in no time. Strange that Thunderbird could setup both of my accounts to use OAuth2 but not Outlook 365. I was able to use some utility to port over all of my emails, etc. from my .PST file so I didn't loose any content. I did loose some of the rules I had setup to move mail to specific folders but once I found out how to do in In Thunderbird, found it was actually less complicated then Outlook. I was also fearful that I was going to loose the grammar check functionality as well but there's also a free add-on that also works better. There were tweaks and other how to questions that it took time to figure out but as of yesterday I finally was able to fully configure Thunderbird to almost 100% mimic Outlook 365's look and feel. So, if you're frustrated with Outlook but fear switching to Thunderbird, don't be. Thunderbird might not be as flashy as some other products but it is FREE and actually more robust than Outlook. Bottom line is that it really sucks to be paying for something that you cannot use anymore but at least with Thunderbird, it's business as usual.

I have only Add account Manage account and Add folder on the 3 dots after each email account. Am I missing a step?
