Hi,
In the new outlook, I have 6 email accounts. They all transferred in with the transition just fine. However, there does not appear to be a way to know which email accounts have new mail in them other than clicking on each account. And to add injury to insult, when you click on an account, you get another drop down menu.
I am in windows 11 and the 365 subscription version of outlook.
I absolutely need to see at a glance which accounts have new email in them on the main account screen. When an account does have new email, I need to be able to click on that email and have the inbox open with one click and not give me another menu to click through.,
Without these features you are adding a ridiculous amount of time to what should be a two second glance to check emails.
These are not wants, they are absolute needs.
Can anyone help? Or is time to find a new app?

It's a joke to be honest. Unified inbox works fine on my android phone's Outlook, but not the desktop Windows one - pathetic. Mailbird looks good - once Microsoft's Mail is retired I'll switch to them if Microsoft still have not remedied the Outlook situation.
That Microsoft would be so blind as to NOT include the capability to unify multiple email accounts just didn't seem possible at first and I spent hours thinking 'it must be me...there surely must be a way to do this." THANK YOU! to all of you in the Community for your replies and sharing your common experience. So SAD and DISAPPOINTING to think Microsoft a) wouldn't include this capability and b) that they wouldn't have fixed it by now knowing all of the complaints about it. Or...as we should probably expect...they'll 'fix it', but only for an 'upgraded version' that will, of course, cost extra!! Thanks, again, everyone!
The answer is NO. No, you can't do this on Outlook. Yes, this is a feature many people want. Yes, you can do this under iOS. You can't do this under Outlook because all our developers are busy cramming AI **** that nobody wants into all of our apps.
For me the problem is twofold:
1 notification as you describe and
2 the loss of function where Outlook displays messages from multiple email accounts in to one linked (unified) inbox.
It is also unacceptable that Microsoft representatives on the forum have not provided any meaningful advice or updates for so long.
Thanks for the recommendation. I just installed BlueMail for Windows. I'm not sure what problems you experienced with it, but so far it seems okay. It fixes the main problems I had with "New" Outlook, namely the lack of a unified mailbox and the mind-bogglingly-stupid fact that you can't set the From name on your IMAP accounts. So I'll give it a try and see how it goes. I was doing fine with Thunderbird for a long time, but they had a number of performance killing bugs that made it impossible to use. Outlook was quick and light, but those 2 issues were deal breakers.
