My contacts are gone. I upgraded to the "new" outlook a couple months ago and now realize I have no contacts. I tried looking for a CVS file but I found none. I tried reverting back to Outlook 2019 but still no contacts. Please note, I upgraded from Windows Mail. I never used Outlook 2019.

I was using outlook before and all my contacts were stored in the contacts folder of the main email account associated with it. I thought if I updates those contacts would still be there.

Most are stored on another app on my phone, but I hate adding each individually on my outlook on my computer.

Ya, one would think, BUT, when using Microsoft stuff, it's typically not one would expect when considering standard, normal, everyday functionality. I no longer use Outlook 365 desktop app or Android app. You can't even search for a contact if the search text is not where Outlook thinks it should be. Other free, standard email apps/programs have no problem returning hits. It's only 2024.

Yes. That's standard Microsoft app behavior. It's not supposed to work as expected. Why would you expect that?

Case in point: I have a contact in Desktop Outlook via Exchange server that I had changed their name last week. It appears in the Desktop app as expected. I view that same contact in the Web version of Outlook and lo and behold, it's still under the same name prior to my changing it. SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!

Switched back to original outlook and contact list still missing. This is unacceptable; we are old age pensioners and not totally tech savvy. The new outlook binned our contact list and now after switching back the list is still missing. How do we get it back - in simple language please.
