Contacts Missing From "New" Outlook After Upgrade From Windows Mail

I am so lost. I had no idea when the new outlook mail launched it would permanently shutdown my old outlook stand alone application! I have very important business contacts I can no longer access. The old outlook simply will not launch any longer! I tried going and switching the default app as was suggested and it still will not launch. I also saw mentioned to click some funnel shaped thing and don't see that either. However I did check off the recent and no contacts magically appeared like the did for other people. I NEED my contacts! Please Help!!!

You should have the option to revert to Windows Mail with a switch top right that you used to get Outlook. If that did not work there is an alternative route elsewhere in this thread. Once you are back, I had no other option than writing them out by hand, switching to Outlook and entering them as new contacts. None of the other suggested options were either available or worked.

Sorry to hear! Don't waste your time waiting for Microsoft to fix or answer. I'm afraid all you'll receive is rhetoric and/or crickets

This doesn't help me as it seems the new outlook completely removed the old outlook. Windows mail does not show my contacts either. The old outlook desktop is just gone. So I can't even see my contacts to copy them

I logged into my microsoft account and downloaded office 365 again from my purchase history and was able to get my contacts and have the old outlook running again. I have not tried going back to the new one and importing yet.
