I can agree entirely with you Gregg, we never asked for this new outlook and never wanted it to replace the windows mail which for a majority of users ticked all the right boxes.
The admission that this new outlook is 'under development' speaks volumes, it was not ready for release but Microsoft replaced a perfectly fine mail app with this complete utter trash.
The reply from GinikalD completely missed the point of your question :

Please try the following options and see if the issue gets resolved:
- Reduce the Size of Your Mailbox. Large mailboxes can slow down Outlook. Try archiving old emails.
so it's your mail that is the problem??? I don't think so!
- Ensure that you have a strong and stable network connection.
So it's your network connection that is the problem ????? again I do not think so!
- You might have to disable some add-ins that you don't use regularly as some can slow down Outlook.
So now you have to disable add-ins as Outlook cannot process with them on????? come on be serious!!!
- Repair Outlook Profile. A corrupted profile can cause slow loading, so consider repairing and the Outlook app on your desktop.
So now it's actually your installation of outlook that causes the problem????
When will these so-called experts except that we are not idiots, I've been working with computer programs since the seventies and always smile when the 'it must be your fault as our coding is perfect' card is played, it's not any of those issues, the issue is we didn't want this new outlook but Microsoft has determined that like it or not you will have it even if it is rubbish it is what we say you need to use and the ads give us much needed revenue ( did I type that?)
Releasing an app that is incapable of transferring contacts from a working windows mail is inexcusable, forcing users to be spammed with ads unless they are prepared to buy out is despicable.
Being unable to select your own backgrounds to allow individuals to customise their page is arrogance of the highest order.
It really doesn't matter which alternate mail app you use as any available are miles better than this 'new' outlook but blind to any feedback Microsoft will continue to ignore the very people who pay their wages, simply put restore Windows mail and stop forcing users who do not need outlook to have to put up with an inferior option because they will find a non-microsoft alternative.
