hate the new outlook that is replacing win mail. any alternative that is similar to win mail that is simple and fast to load?

this is probably worse than the decision to remove group all at task bar and so many people refused to upgrade to win 11 because of that. what is Ms thinking?

The problem with Outlook isn't that it's slow. It's visually cluttered and difficult to see (why, oh, why, is everything gray instead of black?), the functions are hard to find and figure out, and the functionality is clunky. It is also incredibly annoying that you can't scroll down the calendar, but must use your mouse to select the next month. Frequently, I'm trying to look at a sequence of events that straddles two months.

My current peeve, which is what brought me here, is that I have a recurrent appointment every Tuesday. Outlook highlights every day of the week, not just Tuesdays. Why would you do that?

Outlook has been around for a long time, and I used to use it without complaint. Windows 10 calendar and email were so much better, and if you had to pick only one, I wish you would have picked the good one. But Microsoft not only made us all move to Outlook; they've changed Outlook to be clunky and user-unfriendly.

I'm hanging on to my Windows 10 computer for as long as I can, since Windows 11 looks like another effort to make things better that just makes them worse. I wish there was a third option, because I don't want to switch to Apple but I sure am getting tired of Microsoft's failure to respect how much work is invested in knowing a system, and how much wasted effort is created when MS decides to change things up just to be new..

I can agree entirely with you Gregg, we never asked for this new outlook and never wanted it to replace the windows mail which for a majority of users ticked all the right boxes.

The admission that this new outlook is 'under development' speaks volumes, it was not ready for release but Microsoft replaced a perfectly fine mail app with this complete utter trash.

The reply from GinikalD completely missed the point of your question :

    Quote:

Please try the following options and see if the issue gets resolved:

    1. Reduce the Size of Your Mailbox. Large mailboxes can slow down Outlook. Try archiving old emails.

so it's your mail that is the problem??? I don't think so!

    1. Ensure that you have a strong and stable network connection.

So it's your network connection that is the problem ????? again I do not think so!

    1. You might have to disable some add-ins that you don't use regularly as some can slow down Outlook.

So now you have to disable add-ins as Outlook cannot process with them on????? come on be serious!!!

    1. Repair Outlook Profile. A corrupted profile can cause slow loading, so consider repairing and the Outlook app on your desktop.

So now it's actually your installation of outlook that causes the problem????

When will these so-called experts except that we are not idiots, I've been working with computer programs since the seventies and always smile when the 'it must be your fault as our coding is perfect' card is played, it's not any of those issues, the issue is we didn't want this new outlook but Microsoft has determined that like it or not you will have it even if it is rubbish it is what we say you need to use and the ads give us much needed revenue ( did I type that?)

Releasing an app that is incapable of transferring contacts from a working windows mail is inexcusable, forcing users to be spammed with ads unless they are prepared to buy out is despicable.

Being unable to select your own backgrounds to allow individuals to customise their page is arrogance of the highest order.

It really doesn't matter which alternate mail app you use as any available are miles better than this 'new' outlook but blind to any feedback Microsoft will continue to ignore the very people who pay their wages, simply put restore Windows mail and stop forcing users who do not need outlook to have to put up with an inferior option because they will find a non-microsoft alternative.

Totally agree with you . The Outlook is horrible. Instead of improving Outlook, its gone to the "dogs" . I am looking for an alternative and I think many users feel the same way. Why Microsoft can't this badly thing . Really useless. I will NOT renew 365 . Microsoft is becoming a joke now

How about not forcing us to move to an app that is "still under development" and just give us windows mail back until you have an app that works?

Me too, I really hate this app. It's pain in the ****!!!!

Last time I witnessed failure from Microsoft is when they released Windows Millennium and Vista. This App is clearly in this category!

    • The default favorites is attached to which mailbox?
    • We are unable to rename favorites mailbox to identify them.
    • Opening mailbox from favorites doesn't work
    • Unable to define the default mailbox to open when starting the app
    • There is no home mailbox like on the phone App
    • The app reload itself with no reason
    • The app is slow to open
    • Ads may display...

This is my last version of Windows (Windows 10). I don't understand why we are forced to update the App and can't keep the original one. Like forcing us to move to Windows 11, I don't even understand WHY!!!!

For all of these reason, I quit Microsoft Windows for personal usage.
