hate the new outlook that is replacing win mail. any alternative that is similar to win mail that is simple and fast to load?

As a software developer that has built a mail client and servers before, I know that isn't possible. You set them up with your credentials, they use them to send a standardized SMTP request to the servers to get the emails. There is no way for a mail server to detect what app is requesting the emails. They can throw popups at you all day, doesn't mean it's true.

It will work for a week or two until they updated the email server farms in your region, then you get the pop-up screen that will say that the mail app is no longer sending or receiving email from now on.

The steps I provided are about as detailed as it can get.

1. If you don't know how to create a batch file, right click inside Explorer -> New -> Text Document. Just rename and change extension to .bat (Shortcut creation is in the same place).
2. You can edit the file with Notepad to add the 2 lines.
3. When I say set the target of the shortcut, it should be the full file path to the .bat file you created.

It might be my first post, but that doesn't make it less valid. I use it on my machine, no problems, no new outlook. When you open old mail, microsoft installs new outlook in the background, the next time you open old mail it redirects to it. My batch script just keeps uninstalling new outlook every time it's launched to get around the redirect. Which is why I clearly explained what each line of the batch script does, so that anyone can understand.

All of which is true. However Microsoft, just like all the other American corporations, are focused on "hits" and reaping money from the data their legal eagles have managed to justify while giving them free access to "our" data in an endless stream of license updates. Their focus is on that money and could care less about our issues.

And whose to blame? Clearly each and every one of our politicians who allow this to happen. Stay tuned, it will get worse!
