Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Hello Bob Miller4
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.
I understand that you're experiencing this issue with your email going to the junk folder even after marking it as safe. This can be frustrating, but I'm here to help you resolve this issue.
The cause of this problem could be due to the Junk Email Filter settings in Outlook. The Junk Email Filter is designed to help protect your inbox from spam and phishing emails, but sometimes it can be too aggressive and mark legitimate emails as junk.
Before we go any further, I would like to ask a few questions to better understand the problem;
- Can you tell which specific account has the problem? Just provide us the domain if it's @outlook.com, @hotmail.com or something else.
- Are you using the classic Outlook mail app or the new Outlook version?\
- Is this a personal account or work/school account?
- What is the configuration of your email? Is it on IMAP, POP, or Microsoft Exchange?
To resolve this issue, I would recommend checking your Junk Email Filter settings in Outlook. Here's how you can do it:
- Open Outlook and go to the Home tab.
- Click on the Junk dropdown menu and select Junk Email Options.
- In the Junk Email Options window, go to the Safe Senders tab.
- Make sure that the checkbox for "Also trust email from my Contacts" is checked.
- If the recurring email is from a specific sender, you can add their email address to the Safe Senders list by clicking on the Add button and entering their email address.
- Click OK to save the changes.
If the above steps don't work, you can also try disabling the Junk Email Filter temporarily to see if it resolves the issue. Here's how you can do it:
- Open Outlook and go to the Home tab.
- Click on the Junk dropdown menu and select Junk Email Options.
- In the Junk Email Options window, go to the Options tab.
- Under the section "Choose the level of junk email protection you want," select No Automatic Filtering.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Please note that disabling the Junk Email Filter can leave your inbox vulnerable to spam and phishing emails, so it's important to re-enable it once you've resolved the issue.
I hope this helps you resolve the issue with your email going to the junk folder. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Reynaldo B
