I cannot spellcheck in the new outlook 20231215008.08 . The editor is greyed out in the edit options. I have edge as my default browser and the MS editor ext in edge. Keep in mind I am talking about the New Outlook APP, but I am unsure if it feeds off od edge settings for the app.

    In new Outlook.

Navigate to Settings > General > Privacy and Data > Privacy Settings.

Enable Turn on experiences that analyze your content.

This fixed it for me. No idea how that setting got changed or if its new or something.

This worked for me. THANKS Pretty shameful this issue has not been addressed for a paid software and we have to run to forums to find a work around.

Yes from Roger Bear Smith post March 24,

In New Outlook, Navigate to Settings > General > Privacy and Data > Privacy Settings.

Enable Turn on experiences that analyze your content.

We don't have this option when looking under there. I'm not sure if it's because it's at work or not but even logged into my personalemail on my work computer this isn't an option for me or my coworkers

This is for the Win10 Mail that is included with Windows and not the one associated with Office 365 or online WinMail.

For me the Settings wheel is at the top Right by the lightbulb icon for tips, The wheel icon opens the settings window.

Maybe you have to download the Microsoft editor Free Online Text Editor Software | Microsoft Editor

    Good Luck
