I cannot spellcheck in the new outlook 20231215008.08 . The editor is greyed out in the edit options. I have edge as my default browser and the MS editor ext in edge. Keep in mind I am talking about the New Outlook APP, but I am unsure if it feeds off od edge settings for the app.

Still no Spell Check in my email. I tried this thread, but it is not for the NEW Outlook, which we are required to have before Spet.16, 2024. In this thread there is NO File in the top left corner in the NEW Outlook like there is in the OLD Outlook. There is NO File anywhere in New Outlook. I have tried going to >General>Account Privacy in New Outlook and all of the optional experiences are turned on. It's really odd as there is spell check in this reply box, but not my email! I still do have spell check when I go back to the OLD Outlook. Thanks for your help. It really sad that a company as big as Microsoft cannot seem to get this corrected as I have seen several other people with the same problem for several months.

    In new Outlook.

Navigate to Settings > General > Privacy and Data > Privacy Settings.

Enable Turn on experiences that analyze your content.

This fixed it for me. No idea how that setting got changed or if its new or something.

Im only seeing Search History & Microsoft’s notice under that section. Am I missing something?

I have been in a chat room with Microsoft and FINALLY came up with a solution. LEFT click for Spell Check instead of the usual right click. Seems impossible that it could be that easy of a fix...but it worked for me. If anyone else is having problems, give this very simple "left click" a try first. I have spent hours trying to resolve this issue as I'm sure others have also. I am so delighted that someone at Microsoft could figure it out.

    Roger,

You are a rockstar !! thank you very much for sharing this!

It fixed the problem for me.

It is very frustrating that MS does not fix this bug and many people pull their hair out trying to find a solution. Not working spellchecker it a show stopper for email app by any reasonable standards

In case anyone here is in government (GCC license), Editor isn't available yet:

Microsoft Editor is not available in new Outlook for GCC tenants
